How do I measure myself correctly?
To ensure your dress fits perfectly, I'll need some important measurements from you. Take your time, wear tight-fitting clothing or underwear, and use a flexible measuring tape. Be careful not to measure too tightly or too loosely—the tape should fit snugly, but not dig in.
The easiest way to do it is with two people—ask a trusted person for help. Alternatively, you can visit a local tailor.
I need the following measurements from you:
1. Chest circumference
Measure around the fullest part of your chest—the tape should be horizontal and loose. Breathe in and out normally.
2. Waist circumference
Measure at the narrowest part of your torso—usually at or slightly above your belly button. Make sure you don't hunch over.
3. Hip circumference
Place the tape measure around the fullest part of your buttocks. Stand up straight and don't shift your weight onto one leg.
4. Shoulder to floor (with shoes)
Stand upright, preferably against a wall. Measure straight down from the top of your shoulder (where your bra strap begins) to the floor—wearing the shoes you plan to wear to the wedding.
5. Height (without shoes)
Your actual height – from crown to heel – measured without shoes. Ideally, this should also be done while standing against a wall.
6. Height with shoes
As above – but with your wedding shoes. This information is important for the final skirt length.
7. Shoulder width (shoulder end to shoulder end)
Measure from the outer edge of your left shoulder to the outer edge of your right shoulder – across your back, not across your neck.
8. Arm length
Extend your arm slightly. Measure from the shoulder seam (where the sleeve begins) over the elbow to the wrist.
9. Biceps or upper arm circumference
Measure the circumference of your upper arm at the thickest point, usually about 5-7 cm below the shoulder.
10. Wrist circumference
Measure the circumference of your wrist at its narrowest point – important for narrow sleeve ends or cuffs.
11. Arm circumference (armpit height/shoulder base)
Measure the circumference of your arm directly under the armpit, where the sleeve attaches to the top.
12. Shoulder to mid-chest
Measure from your shoulder (where the bra strap is) to the tip of your breast – ideally with the bra you plan to wear under the dress.
💡 Tips for precise measuring:
- Stand upright and relaxed without tensing up.
- Use a mirror to check.
- If possible, measure twice and compare the values.
- Write down the measurements in centimeters.
Once you have all your measurements, please send them to me via email, chat, or the contact form. I'll be happy to check them and give you feedback before your dress goes into production.
